All About The Devil Makes Work.....
Hello and welcome!
My name is Wendy, but most people call me Woo. It's just a nickname that stuck. In fact, if anyone calls me Wendy now, I don't take any notice - I am so used to being called Woo!
I handmake unique and original items from vintage, preloved and recycled fabrics along with modern linen remnants. I also use a lot of vintage wool blankets in my work, which I felt in a hot wash.
I love to make every item slightly different so that every single one is special. Some may describe my work as 'quirky', some as 'eccentric' and some as 'downright nuts' but I would say it's original!
I particularly love 60's and 70's Scandinavian style fabrics but I also love the beautiful faded florals of the 30's and 40's. I welcome commissions so please contact me if you have any requests. I hope you enjoy looking through the shop.
Apart from stitching, I also design websites for crafts people like myself as well as graphic design.
When I am not being creative I like eating cheese, anything Scandinavian, buying clogs and eating cheese (I like cheese). Oh and I like dressing like a pirate too.
I recommend the following suppliers of vintage fabrics and haberdashery.
Donna is a font of all knowledge for all ages of vintage fabrics. As well as a fantastic online shop, Donna holds a couple of open days a year which are well worth a visit. I have been buying fabrics from Donna for almost 10 years now. The selection and quality are exquisite.
based in France, Tanya specialises in funky 60's and 70's fabrics, collectibles, Kitchenalia. and European goodies a go-go!
